I adopted this recipe because I thought it sounded interesting. I took out some ingredients and added others, adjusting to suit my tastes through trial-and-error. The result is a savory Thai-inspired steak dinner that is company-worthy.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c
    peanut butter, creamy
  • 2 tsp
    garlic, minced
  • 1/4 c
    beef broth
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp
    jalapeno pepper, diced
  • 2 tsp
    fresh ginger root, grated
  • 1/2 tsp
    sugar (i used splenda)
  • 1/8 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 1 lb
    top round steak, sliced in 1/4
  • 1 c
    cooked rice
  • 1
    green onion, thinly sliced

How to Make Thai Peanut Sauce Steaks

Step-by-Step

  1. In blender container, process peanut butter, garlic, broth, soy sauce, lime juice, jalapeno pepper, ginger, sugar and cayenne pepper until smooth. Place in medium skillet and stir in sour cream or yogurt. Heat this sauce over low heat. Do not boil.
  2. While sauce is heating, brown steak strips to desired state of doneness. Add steak strips to sauce mixture, heating through.
  3. Serve over rice, garnishing with sliced green onions. Enjoy!
