  • 6 medium
    green peppers
  • 1/3 c
    chopped onions
  • 1 lb
    can stewed tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c
    sharp american cheese grated
  • 1 lb
    ground steak
  • 1 Tbsp
    fat
  • 3/4 c
    packaged precooked rice
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Steak Stuffed Peppers

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut off tops of green peppers; remove seeds and membrane.
  2. Precook green-peppers in boiling salted water about 5 minutes then drain.
  3. Sprinkle inside with salt.
  4. Brown meat and onion in hot fat; add tomatoes, rice, worcestershire, salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cover and simmer until rice is almost tender, about 5 minutes.
  6. Add cheese.
  7. Stuff peppers; stand upright in 10 x 6 inch baking dish.
  8. Bake uncovered in moderate oven 350 degree 25 minutes or until hot.
  9. Sprinkle tops with additional shredded cheese.
