Ingredients

  • 6 medium green peppers
  • 1/3 cup chopped onions
  • 1 pound can stewed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sharp american cheese grated
  • 1 pound ground steak
  • 1 tablespoon fat
  • 3/4 cup packaged precooked rice
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make steak stuffed peppers

  • Step 1
    Cut off tops of green peppers; remove seeds and membrane.
  • Step 2
    Precook green-peppers in boiling salted water about 5 minutes then drain.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle inside with salt.
  • Step 4
    Brown meat and onion in hot fat; add tomatoes, rice, worcestershire, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 5
    Cover and simmer until rice is almost tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Add cheese.
  • Step 7
    Stuff peppers; stand upright in 10 x 6 inch baking dish.
  • Step 8
    Bake uncovered in moderate oven 350 degree 25 minutes or until hot.
  • Step 9
    Sprinkle tops with additional shredded cheese.
