This mushroom sauce compliments the steaks very well.

  • 4 (6 oz)
    beef tenderloins
  • 1/2 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 c
    shallot -- diced
  • 1 (10 oz) pkg
    fresh mushrooms -- sliced
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    olive oil
  • 1/4 c
    marsala wine
  • 1/4 c
    beef broth

How to Make Steak & Mushrooms


  1. Season your meats on both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
  3. Add steaks and cook 8 to 10 minutes for medium-rare or until desired doneness, turning steaks over once. Transfer steaks to platter; keep warm.
  4. Leave drippings in skillet, add oil and shallot, and cook 1 minute, stirring often. Add mushrooms and cook until liquid evaporates and mushroom mixture is golden. Stirring frequently. Add the Marsala and 1/4 cup beef broth; cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Spoon mushroom sauce over steaks.
