Ingredients
- 2 pounds round steak
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup water chestnuts
- 1 cup beef bouillon
- 2 - garlic cloves, mashed
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- - rice, cooked
- 1 cup boiling water
- 3 large green bell peppers
How To Make steak & green peppers

Step 1Cut the steak into 1/2\" strips.

Step 2Combine the soy sauce, beef bouillon, mashed garlic and ginger.

Step 3Pour this marinade over the steak strips and cover.

Step 4Marinate, refrigerated, at least 2 hours (up to 12 hours).

Step 5Drain the meat and discard the garlic.

Step 6Reserve 1/2 cup of the marinade.

Step 7Dry the meat strips on toweling.

Step 8Brown the meat in the vegetable oil in a large skillet.

Step 9Heat the reserved marinade in a separate pan.

Step 10Add the reserved marinade and the boiling water to the meat and cover.

Step 11Simmer about 45 minutes.

Step 12Add the green bell pepper strips and the sliced water chestnuts.

Step 13Simmer until the meat is tender.

Step 14Mix the cornstarch in the second measure of water until smooth.

Step 15Gradually stir this mixture into the meat mixture.

Step 16Continue stirring until the gravy thickens.

Step 17Serve over boiled white rice.
