    round steak
  • 1 Tbsp
    cooking oil
  • 1.5 c
    water
  • 8 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    cold water
  • ·
    hot cooked rice

How to Make Steak & Gravy

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut beef into bite-size pieces; brown in oil in skillet.
  2. Transfer to a slow cooker.
  3. Cover with water; add tomato sauce and seasonings.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours, or until meat is tender.
  5. In a small bowl, combine flour and cold water to make a paste; stir into liquid in slow cooker.
  6. Cover and cook on high 30 minutes longer or until gravy is thickened.
  7. Serve over rice or potatoes.
