Ingredients For steak and cheese sandwiches with mushrooms

  • 1 tsp
    olive oil
  • 2 c
    sliced onions
  • 2 c
    green peppers, cut into strips
  • 2 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 1 c
    mushrooms, sliced
  • 3/4 lb
    top round steak, trimmed and cut into thin strips
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slice
    reduced-fat provolone cheese, cut in half
  • 4
    sub rolls (hoagie rolls)

How To Make steak and cheese sandwiches with mushrooms

    In large non-stick skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add onions, bell pepper, and garlic; saute 3 minutes. Add the mushrooms and saute 4 minutes longer.

    Sprinkle the beef strips with salt and pepper and add to skillet and saute until browned, about 3 minutes. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and saute 1 minute longer.

    On sub roll,(each cut into halves), place 1 cheese slice half and top with beef mixture. Top with remaining cheese half and the remaining sub halve. 10 points per serving.
