olive oil
2 c
sliced onions
2 c
green peppers, cut into strips
2 tsp
minced garlic
1 c
mushrooms, sliced
3/4 lb
top round steak, trimmed and cut into thin strips
1/4 tsp
1/8 tsp
black pepper
2 tsp
worcestershire sauce
4 slice
reduced-fat provolone cheese, cut in half
sub rolls (hoagie rolls)

How to Make Steak and Cheese Sandwiches with Mushrooms


  • 1In large non-stick skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add onions, bell pepper, and garlic; saute 3 minutes. Add the mushrooms and saute 4 minutes longer.
  • 2Sprinkle the beef strips with salt and pepper and add to skillet and saute until browned, about 3 minutes. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and saute 1 minute longer.
  • 3On sub roll,(each cut into halves), place 1 cheese slice half and top with beef mixture. Top with remaining cheese half and the remaining sub halve.

    10 points per serving.
