Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 quart cherry tomatoes
  • 15 ounces black-eyed peas

  • Step 1
    Lightly brown ground beef, in a medium saucepan.
  • Step 2
    Stir in garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Step 3
    Layer onion and tomatoes on top.
  • Step 4
    Pour on black-eyed peas, liquid and all.
  • Step 5
    Cover and bring to a boil.
  • Step 6
    Reduce heat and simmer for thirty minutes, without stirring.
  • Step 7
    Stew is done when the tomatoes are cooked.
  • Step 8
    Ladle into serving bowls.
