Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef sirloin steak, boneless
- 1.5 teaspoons pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 3/4 teaspoon turmeric, ground
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom seeds, crushed
How To Make spicy grilled steak (shawayuh)

Step 1Slash outer edge of fat on beef steak diagonally at 1-inch intervals to prevent curling (do not cut into lean).

Step 2Mix together remaining ingredients.

Step 3Sprinkle on both sides of beef and lightly press into beef.

Step 4Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.

Step 5Grill beef 4 to 5 inches from medium hot coals, turning 2 or 3 times.

Step 6Cook to desired doneness, 25 to 35 minutes for medium.

Step 7Cut into serving pieces.
