My family loves homemade chili, but I was getting tired of making the same old thing so into the kitchen with determination I went in hopes to come out with something different and I did. The guys all loved it. My youngest son decided it was like a hot dip so he grabbed tortilla chips and helped himself! My husband suggested serving on baker potatoes, not sure about that one but who knows :)

italian sausage links, hot
1 lb
ground beef
1/2
red onion, diced

cloves garlic, minced

tomatoes, canned italian-style and diced
2 can(s)
fire roasted tomatoes
1 can(s)
dark red kidney beans, undrained
1 Tbsp
italian seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp
dried pepper flakes, optional

How to Make Spicy Chili Italian Style

Step-by-Step

  • 1Remove casing from the Italian Sausage and place sausage in pot over med-high heat. Add ground beef, onion and garlic. As it is cooking break the sausage into small pieces with a wooden spoon. Stirring frequently to mix and it helps with even browning. Cook until the ground beef is brown and the sausage is no longer pink.
  • 2Add the diced Italian tomatoes, fire roasted tomatoes,red kidney beans, Italian seasoning and salt & pepper to taste. Add the optional red pepper flakes if desired. Stir well. Cover and let simmer 30-45 minutes.
