Ingredients

  • 1 pound roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup picante sauce
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro
  • 1/3 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/3 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 large pita bread rounds
  • - avocado, chopped
  • - chopped tomato
  • - chopped green bell pepper
  • - feta cheese

How To Make spicy beef pitas

  • Step 1
    Place sliced beef in a plastic bag set inside a bowl.
  • Step 2
    For marinade: In a medium bowl, combine picante, vinegar, oil, cilantro, garlic and pepper. Pour marinade over beef.
  • Step 3
    Seal bag; marinate in the refrigerator for 4-24 hours, turning bag occasionally.
  • Step 4
    To serve, drain and discard the marinade.
  • Step 5
    Fill each pita half with beef.
  • Step 6
    Top with chopped vegetables and feta cheese.
