Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 - garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can soup, bean and bacon
  • 16 ounces picante sauce
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 - refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 can olives, drained

How To Make spicy beef and bean pie

  • Step 1
    In a skillet, cook beef and garlic until beef is browned; drain.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, combine soup, 1 cup of picante sauce, cornstarch, parsley, paprika, salt and pepper; mix well.
  • Step 3
    Fold in beans, 1 1/4 cups of cheese, 1/2 cup onions and the beef mixture.
  • Step 4
    Line pie plate with bottom pastry; fill with bean mixture. Top with remaining pastry; seal and flute edges.
  • Step 5
    Cut slits in the top crust.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 425 for 30-35 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Step 7
    Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
  • Step 8
    Garnish with sour cream, olives and remaining picante sauce, cheese and onions.
