This is a very versatile dish. You can pretty much come up with any kind of recipe for it and it will come out tasting great. This particular recipe is the most favored in my household though. :) For the meat I usually use ground turkey but it works just as well for ground hamburger.

How to Make Spicey Sloppy Joes

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown your meat on medium heat. Once browned, drain grease.
  2. Spoon your tomato paste onto the meat, then fill the empty can to about 1/4 full. Pour water on tomato paste and meat. Stir until sauce is evenly covering all the meat.
  3. Take your bbq sauce and squeeze it out onto watered down tomato paste and meat. Stir like you did with the tomato paste and water.
  4. Add your green onions to this mixture and stir.
  5. Now you may add your garlic, seasoned salt, dried oregano, and Italian seasoning and stir for about 2 minutes.
  6. Once the spices are evenly cooked into the mixture, you may add your jalapenos or giardenare. Stir for about 2-3 mins. Once this is done serve and enjoy!
