green peppers
1.5 lb
ground beef
1/4 c
onion, chopped
1/4 c
celery, chopped
3/4 c
oats, quick or old-fashioned, uncooked
1 tsp
1 tsp
1/2 c
tomato juice
10.5 oz
cream of mushroom soup
1/3 c

How to Make Special Stuffed Peppers


  • 1Cut 1/4-inch slice from top of each green pepper; remove seeds.
  • 2Cook green peppers about 5 minutes in enough boiling salted water to cover them; drain.
  • 3Pan-fry ground beef, onion and celery until lightly browned.
  • 4Add remaining ingredients; combine thoroughly.
  • 5Fill green peppers with meat mixture.
  • 6Stand upright in shallow baking pan; add small amount of water.
  • 7Bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 30 minutes.
  • 8Serve hot with mushroom sauce made by heating together mushroom soup and milk.
