  • 6 medium
    green peppers
  • 1.5 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/4 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c
    celery, chopped
  • 3/4 c
    oats, quick or old-fashioned, uncooked
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    tomato juice
  • 10.5 oz
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/3 c

How to Make Special Stuffed Peppers


  1. Cut 1/4-inch slice from top of each green pepper; remove seeds.
  2. Cook green peppers about 5 minutes in enough boiling salted water to cover them; drain.
  3. Pan-fry ground beef, onion and celery until lightly browned.
  4. Add remaining ingredients; combine thoroughly.
  5. Fill green peppers with meat mixture.
  6. Stand upright in shallow baking pan; add small amount of water.
  7. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 30 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with mushroom sauce made by heating together mushroom soup and milk.
