Ingredients

  • 1 - spaghetti squash
  • 2 pounds grass fed ground beef
  • 1 - red onion
  • 28 ounces fresh canned tomatoes
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 3 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 4 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 3 teaspoons fennel seeds
  • 4 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder for the squash
  • - olive oil for cooking
  • - fresh chopped parsley

How To Make spaghetti squash with meat sauce

  • Step 1
Drizzle some olive oil in your pot, let it get hot, then add the red onions to that and let simmer and sizzle for about 3 mins
  • Step 2
Add your garlic cloves and incorporate it and mix it well and keep stirring so that none of it burns.
  • Step 3
Then add your beef and chop it up and mix it well with the onions and garlic.
  • Step 4
Cook until beef is just about totally cooked through.
  • Step 5
Add tomato paste, salt, basil, oregano, fennel and mix well. You want to kinda toast the paste so let it cook some to toast that
  • Step 6
Add your beef broth a little at a time to incorporate it into the mixture, maybe start out with half of the beef broth.
  • Step 7
Finish pouring in the rest of the beef broth and the can of crushed tomatoes. Stir.
  • Step 8
Add the two bay leaves, just stick them into the mixture.
  • Step 9
Cover and bring to almost a boil, then after a couple mins, turn down to low and simmer for 1 hr.
