spaghetti pie
I forget where I got this recipe but I tell you my family was glad that I did! It is simple and tastes great! And it is similar to lasagna without all the work! I hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients
- CRUST
- 6 ounces spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 - eggs, well beaten
- FILLING
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- MEAT TOPPING
- 1 pound ground beef or bulk italian sausage (i use sometimes half of each)
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup green pepper
- 1 - 8 oz can diced tomatoes
- 1 - 6 oz can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- CHEESE TOPPING
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (2 oz.)
How To Make spaghetti pie

Step 1Cook the spaghetti according to package directions, drain. (3 cups) Stir butter or margarine into hot spaghetti. Stir in parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a crust in a buttered 10" pie plate.

Step 2Spread cottage cheese over the spaghetti crust.

Step 3In skillet cook ground beef, onion and green pepper till vegetables are tender and meat is brown. Drain off excess fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, paste, oregano, sugar, and garlic salt. Heat through.

Step 4Turn mixture into crust. Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese atop. Bake 5 minutes longer, till cheese melts.

Step 5Serve with garlic bread and a fresh tossed salad. Enjoy!
