My husband and I love this.It is actually better heated up the next day.I think I'm going to make one tonight.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/14 cups chopped onion
  • 1 (16) ounce jar old el paso thickn'chunky salsa
  • 1(16) ounce can bush chili beans(mild sauce)
  • 1(16) ounce birds eye frozen sweet corn,thawed
  • !/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 packages instant mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar

How To Make southwestern shepherd's pie

  • Step 1
    In a skillet with 1 table spoon of butter brown ground beef and onion.In a large bowl mix the salsa chili beans,corn,ketchup, granulated garlic and salt.Add ground beef and onion.
  • Step 2
    Mix well.Grease a 9 by13 inch casserole dish and spead the mixture evenly in pan.
  • Step 3
    Mix the packs of potatoes according to the package.Spread the potatoes over the top of the mixture and sprinkle with cheese.Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
