  • 8 oz
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 large
    egg beaten
  • 1 lb
    ground beef, or ground venison
  • 1/2
    red bell pepper and yellow bell pepper chopped
  • 2
    jalapenos seeded and chopped
  • 1 medium
    onion chopped
  • 4 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    new mexico red chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    each cumin and mexican oregano
  • 2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2
    8 oz cans tomato sauce
  • 1 c
    each shredded monterey jack cheese and sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c
    fresh cilantro chopped

How to Make Southwestern Baked Spaghetti


  1. Cook spaghetti in salted water and drain. Mix milk and egg together and stir in the spaghetti. Pour spaghetti in a buttered 9 x 13 casserole pan. Preheat oven 425 degrees.
  2. Brown the beef with the onion, garlic, pepper, and jalapeno. Drain. Add meat back to pan. Stir in spices. Add the tomato sauce and cook 2 minutes.
  3. Pour over spaghetti and top with cheese and cilantro. Bake for about 15 minutes. Until cheese is bubbly and melted.
