Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 4 ounces green chile peppers, chopped
  • 4 ounces monterey jack cheese, cubed small
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How To Make southwest burgers

  • Step 1
    Use 1 4-ounce can of chopped green chiles that have been drained.
  • Step 2
    Prepare Fresh Tomato Salsa and set aside.
  • Step 3
    Mix ingredients and shape into 6 patties, each about 1/2-inch thick.
  • Step 4
    Set oven control to broil.
  • Step 5
    Place patties on rack in broiler pan.
  • Step 6
    Broil with tops of burgers about 3 inches from the heat until they are done to your taste, 5 to 7 minutes on each side for medium done.
  • Step 7
    Serve with Fresh Tomato Salsa.
