I got this recipe off a casserole cooking web site. I made a few changes to suit my family's taste, and we all love it. It is easy, and very good! It is hearty, and with biscuits or rolls can serve as a full meal!

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 - head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 - onion, chopped
- 1/2 - green or red sweet pepper, chopped
- - salt and pepper, to taste
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- - pinch of sugar
- 4 slices bacon, cut in thirds
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 - jalapeno, seeded and chopped (optional)
How To Make southern fried cabbage

Step 1Fry hamburger until no longer pink; do not overcook - it will cook further with cabbage.

Step 2Add remaining ingredients and simmer until vegetables are tender.

Step 3*The optional jalapeno is my addition - not in original recipe. Only add if you want some heat!
