Since my hubby doesn't like SOS, I make enough just for me!! SOS aka Same Old Stuff or S--- on a Shingle. My dad was a Marine and made it all the time when I was growing up. He'd serve it on toast with a fried egg on top. Sometimes he'd fry diced potatoes to serve on the side. This is good any time of the day and is one of my favorite recipes. A cheap and filling meal. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients For sos for one

  • 1
    hamburger patty about 4 oz.
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    flour
  • salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
  • some chopped onion
  • 1 c
    milk
  • couple drops of soy sauce for color and flavor

How To Make sos for one

  • 1
    In a saucepan, brown the meat with the chopped onion, add the spices and the flour. Let it cook a little, then add the milk and let it cook until thick. Then add a little soy sauce. This is so good on toast with a fried egg on top, just how my dad made it.
