This is one of my mothers recipes. It was clipped from the local newspaper. I remember how yummy and tender the steak was.

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 pounds beef round steak (3/4 inch thick)
- 2/3 cup catalina dressing
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 - bell pepper,cut into strips
How To Make snappy swiss steak

Step 1Combine flour,salt and pepper in a small bowl. Sprinkle flour mixture on both sides of steak. Rub evenly over steak.Pound flour mixture into the steak using a meat mallet or the edge of a saucer.

Step 2Cut meat into serving size pieces. Heat 1/3 cup of the dressing in a skillet over low heat. add meat to the skillet. Cook until browned on both sides, turning once.

Step 3Add remaining dressing, tomato sauce, water and onions. Cover. Simmer 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Step 4Add bell pepper. Cover.Continue simmering 15 more minutes or until meat and vegetables are tender.
