I adopted this recipe because I liked the basic ingredients. I've put my own touches on it, changing and adding ingredients until it suited my tastes. I think I've developed a pretty good recipe! Please try it and let me know what you think.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 1 large
    onion, chopped
  • 1 large
    green pepper, chopped
  • 2 lb
    chuck roast
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • ·
    salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 - 10 oz
    mushrooms, fresh or canned
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup (i used heinz)
  • 1 c
    barbeque sauce (i used sweet baby ray's)
  • 1 c
    beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp
    molasses
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    liquid smoke
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • ·
    cooking spray

How to Make Crock Pot Smoky Barbequed Roast

Step-by-Step

  1. Spray crock pot with cooking spray.
  2. Cut roast into 1" strips. Place roast strips, flour, salt and pepper in shallow dish and mix to cover strips well.
  3. Place onions and pepper in crock pot. Add steak strips and top with mushrooms. Mix ketchup, barbecue sauce, beef broth, molasses, brown sugar, liquid smoke and soy sauce and add to crock pot. Cook on low for 7 hours.
  4. Serve with rice or noodles. Enjoy!
