I am one of the few people who are allergic to onions, so I usually leave them out. Sloppy Joe's was one of the things I could not eat for a very long time because that canned stuff has onion and green pepper in it. You can omit the cheese if you wish but it is how I have eaten them since forever! It is sooo good! I always have to make a double batch for my family because we all love this and there is usually very little left!

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


2 lb
ground beef
1 small
onion, chopped
1 can(s)
(8 oz) tomato sauce
1/2 c
1/2 c
1/4 c
brown sugar, packed
1/4 c
all purpose flour
1 Tbsp
chili powder
1/4 tsp
garlic powder
1 Tbsp
cider vinegar
worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
hamburger buns
sliced cheese (kraft singles) optional

How to Make Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes


  • 1In a large pan crumble and cook ground beef and onion until beef is no longer pink, drain excess grease.
  • 2Put ground beef mixture into your slow cooker. Add in the rest of the ingredients ( except cheese and buns). Give it all a good stir.
  • 3Cover and cook on low for about 4-6 hours
  • 4When ready to serve, toast buns if desired, place filling on buns and top with cheese or other favorite toppings!
