Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- 3 pounds bone in beef short ribs
- salt and pepper
- 1 large onion diced
- 8 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups dry red wine
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 6 oz cans tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 parmesan rind (optional)
- 10 ounces pasta of choice
- freshly grated parmesan and chopped basil for serving
How To Make slow cooker red wine braised beef short rib pasta

Step 1Cook the bacon in a skillet until crisp. Remove with slotted spoon and set aside. Season the ribs with salt and pepper and sear on all sides in the bacon grease.

Step 2In the slow cooker. Add the wine, broth, tomato paste, onion, garlic, allspice, bay leaves and season with salt and pepper.

Step 3Add the bacon and ribs to the slow cooker. Stir to combine everything. Add the Parmesan rind. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.

Step 4Cook the pasta in boiling salted water. Drain. Remove the ribs from the slow cooker and discard the bones. Shred the meat and add back into the slow cooker.

Step 5Remove the bay leaves and Parmesan rind. Stir the pasta into the sauce. Serve garnished with Parmesan and Basil
