My husband is a rather picky eater but this was a recipe he personally asked for when his sister fixed it as a "thank you" meal for helping with her move. That was high praise indeed from him so I had to get the recipe!

  • 3 lb
    boneless chuck roast (or sirloin or rump roast)
  • 1 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 1 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 2 tsp
    seasoned pepper
  • 1 tsp
    onion salt
  • 1 tsp
    basil, dried
  • 2 tsp
    seasoned salt (like accent)
  • 2
    beef bouillon cubes
  • 16 oz
    italian giardiniera, mild

How to Make Slow Cooker Italian Beef


  1. Place roast and other ingredients in slow cooker.
  2. Add water to cover meat. Cook on low for 7-8 hours.
  3. Remove meat and shred, returning meat to slow cooker for one more on hour on low heat.
  4. Serve on GOOD Italian bread with mozzarella cheese and mild banana peppers, if desired.
