slow cooker ground beef stew
I love stews. I make them all the time in many different ways. This is a different way to use ground beef for a nice hearty winter meal. I don't like a lot of prep on busy days, so I love that I don't have to pre-cook the ground beef and using little baby potatoes that I don't need to cut. I prefer to serve my stews with cornbread or biscuits.

How To Make slow cooker ground beef stew
-
Step 1Place potatoes in slow cooker, followed by celery, frozen carrots, and onion. Break up raw ground beef with hands into smaller pieces on top of veggies. Doesn't need to be super small pieces. It will break up a bit more when you stir in the next ingredients.
-
Step 2In a mixing bowl, mix together broth, tomato paste, thyme, garlic, worcestershire sauce, Kitchen Bouquet, pepper, and salt.
-
Step 3Pour mixture on top of beef and veggies. Stir gently. Press bay leaves into stew mixture.
-
Step 4Set for 6-8 hours. Serve as is with some corn bread or biscuits.
