Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Sea Sun

I have been making this stew for 25 years. I have tried many recipes, but this is my very favorite. Toss the ingredients together in the morning and coming home to the aroma of comfort food.

It goes so well with fresh French bread and a green salad.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

1 1/2 lb
beef stew meat
1 medium
onion, chopped
4 large
carrots, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
ribs celery, cut into 1 inch pieces
4 medium
potatoes, peeled
1 can(s)
tomatoes, diced and undrained
1 can(s)
beef broth, 10 1/2 ounces
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp
parsley flakes
1 tsp
thyme leaves
1 large
bay leaf
1 tsp
1/4 tsp
2 Tbsp

1Brown beef cubes in skillet over medium heat. Transfer meat into crockpot.
2Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 8 hours or on low for 4-5 hours.
3If you'd like a thicker stew, add a tablespoon or two of cornstarch mixed in a small amount (about 1/4 cup) of water and add to stew about 15 minutes prior to serving. This should thicken it.
