This is my mom's recipe. I didn't know, where she got it from but has had it for a long while. But, I now believe she got the recipe from Taste of Home.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 3 lb
    boneless beef sirloin tip roast, cut into chunks
  • 3
    celery ribs, chopped
  • 1 large
    onion, chopped
  • 1 medium
    green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 c
    cider vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1 tsp
    ground mustard
  • 1 c
    tomato ketchup
  • 6 oz
    tomato paste
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Tbsp
    molasses
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce

How to Make Slow Cooker Barbecue Beef

Step-by-Step

  1. Put meat in 5 qt. slow cooker; add celery, onion, and green pepper.
  2. In a bowl, combine all ingredients that are remaining. Mix well. Pour over beef.
  3. Cook on LOW for 8-9 hours or until tender.
  4. Skim fat from juices, if necessary. Shred beef and serve on buns.
