This is my mom's recipe. I didn't know, where she got it from but has had it for a long while. But, I now believe she got the recipe from Taste of Home.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds boneless beef sirloin tip roast, cut into chunks
  • 3 - celery ribs, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 cup tomato ketchup
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce

How To Make slow cooker barbecue beef

  • Step 1
    Put meat in 5 qt. slow cooker; add celery, onion, and green pepper.
  • Step 2
    In a bowl, combine all ingredients that are remaining. Mix well. Pour over beef.
  • Step 3
    Cook on LOW for 8-9 hours or until tender.
  • Step 4
    Skim fat from juices, if necessary. Shred beef and serve on buns.
