My husband goes crazy when I make these sloppy joes! They are also a favorite amongst the neighbors and co-workers as well. So simple and yummy. You won’t be disappointed with this recipe!

Stove Top


  • 2 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 large
    red bell pepper, diced
  • 1
    onion, diced
  • 5 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 2 Tbsp
    packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
  • 2 tsp
    chili powder, or more as needed
  • 1/2 tsp
    red pepper flakes, or more as needed
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 4-5 dash(es)
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • ·
    siracha sauce to taste optional (i do 1/2 tsp.)
  • ·
    salt and peper to taste

How to Make Sloppy Joes


  1. Start by browning the ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain off the fat.
  2. Add onions, red pepper, and garlic. Cook until vegetables begin to get soft
  3. Add ketchup, brown sugar, chili powder, dry mustard, Worcestershire, tomato paste, red pepper flakes, and water; also add the siracha if desired. Stir to combine and simmer for 15min, add salt and pepper to taste.

    Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  4. Place mixture between a buttered and toasted bun and enjoy!
