My husband goes crazy when I make these sloppy joes! They are also a favorite amongst the neighbors and co-workers as well. So simple and yummy. You won’t be disappointed with this recipe!

Ingredients For sloppy joes

  • 2 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lg
    red bell pepper, diced
  • 1
    onion, diced
  • 5 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp
    packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    water
  • 2 tsp
    chili powder, or more as needed
  • 1/2 tsp
    red pepper flakes, or more as needed
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 4-5 dash
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • siracha sauce to taste optional (i do 1/2 tsp.)
  • salt and peper to taste

How To Make sloppy joes

    Start by browning the ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain off the fat.

    Add onions, red pepper, and garlic. Cook until vegetables begin to get soft
  • 3
    Add ketchup, brown sugar, chili powder, dry mustard, Worcestershire, tomato paste, red pepper flakes, and water; also add the siracha if desired. Stir to combine and simmer for 15min, add salt and pepper to taste. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

    Place mixture between a buttered and toasted bun and enjoy!
