I'm not a fan of celery so I don't use it. My picky son isn't a fan of celery, peppers or onions. I have made it without those too. Still comes out really good.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • ½ c
    celery, diced
  • 1 medium
    onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • ½ c
    catsup
  • 1 bottle
    chili sauce
  • ½ tsp
    dry mustard
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • ½
    bell pepper
  • ½ c
    water
  • ·
    salt to taste

How to Make Sloppy Joes

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown meat, onion and celery. Combine all other ingredients; add to meat mixture. Simmer for about 45 minutes. Add water if needed.
