Can't take credit for this recipe. I pinched this from Paula Deen! It's so different than the traditional "Sloppy Joes", and so delicious, just had to share!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    campbells french onion soup
  • 1 medium
    onion, sliced into rings
  • ·
white bread (the sturdy kind like italian or sourdough)
  • ·
    yellow mustard
  • ·
    mayonnaise

How to Make Sloppy Joes

Step-by-Step

  1. In a medium skillet over medium high heat, brown ground beef and drain.
  2. Return ground beef to skillet and sprinkle in 2-3 tbsp flour.
  3. Add onion soup (I also drain out remaining onions from remaining soup and add to beef mixture but this is up to you - I think it gives it more flavor), stir, and cook until meat mixture is thickened and most of the liquid absorbed.
  4. Take off heat
  5. Spread mayo and mustard on both slices of bread, spoon ground beef mixture on to bread and top with sliced onion rings.
