My Mom found this recipe in the newspaper from Pickens, SC about 45 years ago and it became a family favorite. It's simple, quick and easy. Who doesn't love a good Sloppy Joe? I love to serve this on toasted buns with sliced cheddar cheese, Yum!

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • - pepper
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup ketchup

How To Make sloppy joes

  • Step 1
    Brown ground beef, onion, salt and pepper, drain.
  • Step 2
    To meat mixture add flour and cook a couple of minutes to get raw flour taste out.
  • Step 3
    Add water, Worcestershire sauce and ketchup and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve on buns with your choice of condiments.
