How to Make Sloppy Joes
- Brown ground meat(s) of your choice until no pink is showing. Drain and rinse with warm water.
- Dice and sautee mushrooms and onion. Add ground meat and seasoning to suit your tastes. (A dash or two of hot sauce, Lawry's season salt and Greek seasoning are what I use). Combined the onion, seasoning and meat well over medium heat.
- Add cans of tomato soup, golden mushroom soup and tomato paste to the meat and onion mixture. Stir until well blended. Heat until the mixture just starts to bubble.
- Remove from heat and serve on a bun - My children like it over mashed potatoes or pasta - OR - you can place the mixture in a crock pot and simmer on low for 2 - 4 hours. This marries the flavors and intensifies them more.
Serves well with shredded cheese or sour cream on top.
