sloppy joe from scratch
My husband loves this homemade Sloppy Joes recipe ! It takes a little longer than the canned stuff but is so much tastier and made with wholesome ingredients you can actually pronounce. This is unless you have trouble with Worcestershire sauce. LOL

Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1/2 bell pepper, diced
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1 can crushed tomatoes (14.5 oz)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon minced roasted garlic
- 6-7 splashes worcestershire sauce
- 3-4 splashes liquid aminos
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 cup water
- salt & pepper to taste
How To Make sloppy joe from scratch

Step 1Season ground beef with salt and pepper to your taste, brown and set aside.

Step 2In medium to large skillet melt butter and sauté onion and bell pepper till onion is translucent.

Step 3Add in all the rest of ingredients EXCEPT the ground beef. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, add salt and pepper to taste then simmer 15 minutes. Add ground beef and simmer till thickened, usually around 20-30 minutes. Let cool slightly then serve on buns.
