Dessert was Bea Liles "Homemade White Cake" that I added a cherry frosting to.
On Monday we still had tons of leftover and this is what I came up with. It was absolutely delish! And a great way to change up some leftovers.
How to Make Slices of JAP Heaven on Toasted Cornbread Wedges
- Slice cornbread wedges in half; butter and toast in oven under broiler until browned.
- Mean while cut up hamburger steaks into bite size pieces and heat in leftover gravy. NOTE: you can zap in microwave or heat in a skillet on top of stove.
- In a small skillet, saute onion and peppers in a tablespoon of olive oil, just until hot but not completely tender. Add the oven fries and cook on med low heat until nice and warm.
- Once cornbread is toasted, remove from oven and place wedges on plates, spoon hamburger steak and gravy over bread, add potatoes to top. Top with diced tomatoes and spoon a little more gravy over tomatoes. Sprinkle with pepper.
