Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 c
    chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 (15 oz.) can(s)
    tomato sauce
  • 1 (14 oz.) can(s)
    diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 (6 oz.) can(s)
    tomato paste
  • 1 (16 oz.) can(s)
    kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder

How to Make Skillet Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. Place ground beef in a large, deep skillet; cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown; drain excess fat and crumble.
  2. Stir in onion, green pepper, tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes and kidney beans; season with chili powder, hot sauce, ground cumin, cayenne pepper and garlic powder.
  3. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until desired consistency (at least 1 hour for best flavor).
