After looking at several different versions of this dish I decided to do it my way and came up with this. Has a great beefy flavor and was a crowd pleaser with my family..

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Chuck
  • 3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs, dry
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 - yellow onion (diced)
  • 1 tablespoon parsely,dried
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 cup all purpose flour (divided)
  • 15 ounces can mushrooms
  • - salt and pepper
  • . - onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

How To Make simple salisbury steak

  • Step 1
    take ground beef and mix it together with salt, pepper, onion powder, half of onion,whorcestershire sauce, bread crumbs, parsely, and eggs.
  • Step 2
    form into 6 patties.
  • Step 3
    lightly flour patties using half of flour.
  • Step 4
    lightly brown patties on both sides.
  • Step 5
    remove from pan and drain excess oil.
  • Step 6
    add olive oil to pan and cook mushrooms and other half of onion until onions are tender and mushrooms are lightly browned. remove from pan.
  • Step 7
    add flour and slowly add beef stock, stirly constantly to prevent lumbs, cook until sauce is slightly thickened and add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 8
    return onions, mushrooms and patties to sauce, turn down to simmer and cook for 20 to 25 minutes. Patties should be done and tender.
