  • 1 can(s)
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/3 c
    dry bread crumbs
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 1/4 c
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1.5 c
    mushrooms, sliced

How to Make Simple Salisbury Steak

Step-by-Step

  1. In a bowl, mix thoroughly 1/4 cup soup, beef, bread crumbs, egg and onion.
  2. Shape firmly into 6 patties.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook patties, a few at a time, until browned on both sides.
  4. Spoon off the fat.
  5. Stir in the remaining soup and mushrooms; return patties to skillet.
  6. Reduce heat to low.
  7. Cover; simmer 20 minutes, or until done, turning patties occasionally.
