This sandwich is delicious. I found this recipe in one of my old Taste of Home magazines. This is a crock pot recipe..so delicious!

If you want to lighten it up, use diet coke..

I usually double this recipe for leftovers. Or when taking for pot - luck

Ingredients

3/4 c
cola
1/4 c
worcestershire sauce
2 clove
garlic, minced
1 Tbsp
white vinegar
1 Tbsp
beef bouillon granules
1/2 tsp
chili powder
1/2 tsp
ground mustard
1/2 tsp
cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp
red pepper flakes, optional
2 lb
rump roast or bottom round
2 medium
onions, chopped
1/2 c
ketchup
8
kaiser rolls, onion rolls are good also

Step-By-Step

1Gather ingredients.

I used almost a 4 pound rump. So I doubled the ingredients.
2In a medium bowl, combine cola, worcestershire sauce, garlic, vinegar, bouillon and seasonings; set aside.
3In a nonstick skillet, brown meat in oil on all sides.
4Place onion in 3 quart. slow cooker. Top with meat. pour half of cola mixture over the meat. Cover and cook on low for 6 - 8 hours. Mine us usually tender after 6 hrs.

Cover and refrigerate remaining cola mixture.
5Remove meat from cooking liquid and cool. Strain cooking liquid, reserving onions and discarding the liquid.
6When meat is cool enough to handle, shred with two forks.
7Return meat and onions to slow cooker.
8In a small saucepan, combine ketchup and reserved cola mixture; heat through. Pour over meat mixture and heat through, serve on rolls.
9When I poured the sauce over the meat, I added about 1/2 tsp of garlic powder and 1/2 tsp of onion powder..
