shredded beef sandwich (crock pot)
This sandwich is delicious. I found this recipe in one of my old Taste of Home magazines. This is a crock pot recipe..so delicious! If you want to lighten it up, use diet coke.. I usually double this recipe for leftovers. Or when taking for pot - luck

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup cola
- 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon beef bouillon granules
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
- 2 pounds rump roast or bottom round
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 8 - kaiser rolls, onion rolls are good also
How To Make shredded beef sandwich (crock pot)

Step 1Gather ingredients. I used almost a 4 pound rump. So I doubled the ingredients.

Step 2In a medium bowl, combine cola, worcestershire sauce, garlic, vinegar, bouillon and seasonings; set aside.

Step 3In a nonstick skillet, brown meat in oil on all sides.

Step 4Place onion in 3 quart. slow cooker. Top with meat. pour half of cola mixture over the meat. Cover and cook on low for 6 - 8 hours. Mine us usually tender after 6 hrs. Cover and refrigerate remaining cola mixture.

Step 5Remove meat from cooking liquid and cool. Strain cooking liquid, reserving onions and discarding the liquid.

Step 6When meat is cool enough to handle, shred with two forks.

Step 7Return meat and onions to slow cooker.

Step 8In a small saucepan, combine ketchup and reserved cola mixture; heat through. Pour over meat mixture and heat through, serve on rolls.

Step 9When I poured the sauce over the meat, I added about 1/2 tsp of garlic powder and 1/2 tsp of onion powder.. These are delicious...Enjoy!!
