short ribs with red gravy

My mother was a wonderful cook this is one(of many) of my favorite dishes she made and I continue to make it today.The red gravy is slightly thick,more like a thick sauce.Mom always served this with mashed potatoes and sauteed zucchini.

Ingredients

  • - beef short ribs
  • - beef bouillon, cubes
  • - black pepper
  • - garlic cloves,chopped
  • - tomato sauce
  • - slurry of flour and water

How To Make short ribs with red gravy

  • Step 1
    Place short rbs in a large an,add seasonings.Cover with water and simmer several hours until meat is falling off the bone.Remove meat from pan,keep warm.Mix flour and cold water till slightly thick(this is what I call a slurry)add to broth,add tomato sauce,stir well.Taste for seasoning.Cook until red gravy is slightly thick,add beef back into pan and coat with red gravy.
