Ingredients

  • 2 pounds short ribs (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup pear peeled and chopped (asian or bosc)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

How To Make short ribs with marinade

  • Step 1
    Add onion, garlic and ginger to the bowl of a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Add the pear and pulse again until the mixture forms a puree.
  • Step 2
    Place the mixture in a bowl and add the scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar and pepper. Mix well.
  • Step 3
    Pierce the meat with a fork or make small slits in the meat with a sharp knife to help the marinade penetrate the meat. Pour the marinade over the meat, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Step 4
    Heat grill to medium-high and grill for 3-4 minutes a side or until the meat is cooked through.
