This is my rendition of this favorite dish!! :o)

method ---
yield 4 to 5 people

Ingredients

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cut green beans
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes/can use instant
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 package shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can french fried onions

How To Make shepard's pie

  • Step 1
    Brown ground beef and drain/set aside. Cook potatoes as directed til fork tender if using regular potatoes/drain and mash/set aside.
  • Step 2
    Combine ground beef and mushroom soup til well blended, then add the green beans, folding in to not break them up too much.Add half of the shredded cheddar and fold in as well.
  • Step 3
    Spoon the mixture into a baking dish of your choice and spread out evenly. Place the mashed potatoes on top and spread as well, carefully. Top the potatoes with the french fried onions just to coat. Lastly, sprinkle the last of the cheddar cheese on top and place in a 375* oven for 25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
  • Step 4
    This will serve 4 to 5 people. May serve with a salad or a nice loaf of crusty bread. You may even choose to have both!! :o)
