Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 4 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 package frozen vegetable mix
  • cherry tomatoes, cooked
  • parsley sprigs

How To Make sesame beef strips

  • Step 1
    Partially freeze steak to firm.
  • Step 2
    Slice steak diagonally, across the grain into 1/4\" strips.
  • Step 3
    Combine green onions, soy sauce, sesame seeds, rice wine and sugar.
  • Step 4
    Place beef strips and marinade in plastic bag or utility dish, stirring to coat.
  • Step 5
    Close bag securely or cover dish.
  • Step 6
    Stirring once, marinate in refrigerator 30 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Remove beef from marinade; reserve marinade.
  • Step 8
    Thread beef strips loosely (weaving back and forth) on eight (9 to 10\") bamboo skewers.
  • Step 9
    Arrange skewers, not touching each other in a 1 1/2 quart rectangular microwave baking dish.
  • Step 10
    Brush with reserved marinade; cover with waxed paper.
  • Step 11
    Turning skewers over midway through cooking (bring inside to outside), microwave on high for 4 minutes.
  • Step 12
    Rearrange skewers again and microwave on high 1 minute or until beef is slightly pink (do not overcook).
  • Step 13
    Let stand, covered, 2 minutes.
  • Step 14
    Serve skewered beef strips on bed of cooked oriental vegetables.
  • Step 15
    Garnish with cherry tomatoes and parsley.
