Shlock is a family name for untitled recipes that came out of the oven or off the stove. Just making due with what was on hand or re-inventing a previous entree.

Ingredients For shlock

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 6 md
    potatoes scrubbed and thinly sliced
  • 6
    carrots peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 md
    onions thinly sliced
  • 12-16 oz
    canned tomatoes, whole or diced with juice
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make shlock

  • 1
    Crumble beef in bottom of casserole dish. Salt and pepper the beef. Layer all the potatoes on the beef, then layer all the carrots and then finally the onions, salt and pepper the top and pour the can of tomatoes, juice and all, over all the veggies. Cover and bake 1 hr 15 minutes at 350 degrees
