I have served this on many occasions and it is always a winner! Serve with warm dinner rolls and you have a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can sauerkraut (1 lb. 11 ounce) drained
  • 2 cups uncooked wide egg noodles
  • 1 can cream of celery soup, undiluted
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

How To Make sauerkraut hotdish

  • Step 1
    Brown beef and onion together with salt and pepper, drain fat.
  • Step 2
    Layer half the beef-onion mixture in a 7x11 baking dish. Cover with sauerkraut and top with remaining meat-onion mixture.
  • Step 3
    Put uncooked noodles on top. Spread soups over noodles. ( I mix soups together first).
  • Step 4
    Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake 30 minutes more.
