  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 small
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt, optional
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1 can(s)
    sauerkraut (1 lb. 11 ounce) drained
  • 2 c
    uncooked wide egg noodles
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of celery soup, undiluted
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1/2 c
    grated cheddar cheese

How to Make Sauerkraut Hotdish


  1. Brown beef and onion together with salt and pepper, drain fat.
  2. Layer half the beef-onion mixture in a 7x11 baking dish. Cover with sauerkraut and top with remaining meat-onion mixture.
  3. Put uncooked noodles on top. Spread soups over noodles. ( I mix soups together first).
  4. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake 30 minutes more.
