Ingredients

  • 1 package scalloped potatoes
  • 285 milliliters chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 - garlic clove, minced
  • 10 ounces mushrooms, drained
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated

How To Make saucy scalloped beef or turkey pie

  • Step 1
    Cook potatoes according to stovetop or microwave package directions.
  • Step 2
    Meanwhile in a medium bowl combine chili sauce and italian seasoning: Divide chili sauce mixture in half.
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl, combine 1/2 of the chili sauce mixture, ground beef (or you can use turkey) onion, breadcrumbs and garlic; mix well.
  • Step 4
    Press meat mixture evenly over the bottom and up the side of a 9\" pie plate.
  • Step 5
    Bake in 350 oven for 15 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Add mushrooms and parmesan cheese to cooked potatoes.
  • Step 7
    Fill meat shell with potato mixture.
  • Step 8
    Bake 10 minutes longer or until heated through.
  • Step 9
    Place under broiler until potatoes are golden brown.
  • Step 10
    Heat remaining half of chili sauce mixture and spoon over individual servings.
