Saucy Beef Stew
2 lbstew beef, cubed
1/4 tspblack pepper
2 cbeef stock
1/2 cdry red wine
14 oztomatoes, canned whole and drained
1.5 cmushrooms, sliced
1/2 tspdried rosemary, crushed
How to Make Saucy Beef Stew
- In a bag, toss beef with flour, salt and pepper.
- Arange beef on a baking sheet; bake in 500 oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Meanwhile in a large dutch oven, combine beef-stock, wine, tomatoes, carrots, onions mushrooms and rosemary, breaking up tomatoes with a fork.
- Bring to a boil.
- Add browned beef; bake in 300 oven for 2 hours or until beef is tender.
