I made This stew the other night for my husband he loved it. The next time I make it I will add celery and potatoes.

stew beef, cubed
1/4 c
1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp
black pepper
2 c
beef stock
1/2 c
dry red wine
14 oz
tomatoes, canned whole and drained
carrots, sliced
onions, sliced
1.5 c
mushrooms, sliced
1/2 tsp
dried rosemary, crushed

How to Make Saucy Beef Stew


  • 1In a bag, toss beef with flour, salt and pepper.
  • 2Arange beef on a baking sheet; bake in 500 oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • 3Meanwhile in a large dutch oven, combine beef-stock, wine, tomatoes, carrots, onions mushrooms and rosemary, breaking up tomatoes with a fork.
  • 4Bring to a boil.
  • 5Add browned beef; bake in 300 oven for 2 hours or until beef is tender.
