saucy beef stew
I made This stew the other night for my husband he loved it. The next time I make it I will add celery and potatoes.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds stew beef, cubed
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 14 ounces tomatoes, canned whole and drained
- 5 - carrots, sliced
- 2 - onions, sliced
- 1.5 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
How To Make saucy beef stew

Step 1In a bag, toss beef with flour, salt and pepper.

Step 2Arange beef on a baking sheet; bake in 500 oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Step 3Meanwhile in a large dutch oven, combine beef-stock, wine, tomatoes, carrots, onions mushrooms and rosemary, breaking up tomatoes with a fork.

Step 4Bring to a boil.

Step 5Add browned beef; bake in 300 oven for 2 hours or until beef is tender.
