This is an oldie but goodie. My Mom served this when I was small and I just turned 65....Recipe is likely over 60 years old.

1 lb ground beef, or turkey

How to Make Sauce Pot Meat Balls

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a pot, bring onion soup mix, water and 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce to a boil. Simmer covered for 10 minutes.
  • 2Mix ground beef or turkey, seasonings and remaining 1/2 can tomato sauce.
  • 3Shape into meatballs and place in tomato sauce mixture. Simmer gently, uncovered for 25 minutes, turning meatballs occasionally.
  • 4My mom served this over wide egg noodles or you can serve over rice. We usually had green beans, a salad and hot sourdough bread. Brings back memories as I write this.
