My daughter LOVES frozen salsbury steaks, so I decided to make my own & I'm happy to say now if she gets a frozen one she says it's not as good as mommy's.

Ingredients

  • FOR BEEF
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup saltine cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 can - golden mushroom soup,
  • 1 - envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 - egg beaten
  • FOR GRAVY
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1 jar savory beef gravy
  • 1/2 can - golden mushroom soup, (rest of can from patties)
  • 1-8 oz can mushrooms
  • 2 dashes worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

How To Make salsbury steak

  • Step 1
Combine ingredients for patties in bowl. Mix well and form into 4 good size oval patties. Brown patties on both sides. Don't cook all the way through as they will continue to cook in the gravy.
  • Step 2
Combine the gravy ingredients in a bowl and pour over patties. Gently lift the patties to let some of the gravy get under the patties. Cover and reduce heat to med/low and let simmer in gravy for 20-30 minutes.
  • Step 3
Serve with Mashed potatoes & veggie of choice.
