Salisbury Steak patties are in a sauce enhanced with a bit of mayonnaise (yes mayo, and it's GOOD), LOTS of mushrooms, carrots, tomatos, onion, and green pepper. A favorite at my house :)

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs (1 slice of bread)
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 can diced tomatoes, drained (14.5 ounce)
- 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1/2 cup chopped carrots
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1/3 cup green pepper, chopped
How To Make salisbury steak bake with mushroom sauce

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl combine bread crumbs, egg, milk, chopped onion, 1/2 tsp. pepper, and 1/4 tsp salt. Add ground beef: mix well. Form into 8 patties and brown in a skillet on both sides in a small amount of oil.

Step 2SAUCE: Stir together soup, mayonnaise, drained tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots, sliced onion, and green pepper.

Step 3Coat a 3 quart baking dish with vegetable oil or non stick cooking spray. Lay beef patties in dish and pour sauce over. Cover with lid or foil and bake for 45 minutes until vegetables are tender. Serve with rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.
